L'Écailler du Palais Royal

L’Écailler du Palais Royal is a long-established seafood restaurant founded in 1967. Over the decades the house has welcomed members of the royal family, celebrities and international figures and is noted locally as one of Belgium’s best tables. The restaurant is recognized as selected for its seafood (Poissons et fruits de mer). Set in a magnificent heritage‑listed 17th‑century house in the Sablon antiques district, the dining rooms combine simple refinement and tranquillity in a stylish private‑club vibe with small tables, cosy benches and a lively ground‑floor bar; the upper floor offers a more intimate setting. The kitchen specialises in fish, shellfish and crustaceans, following Belgian gastronomic tradition with generous, product‑led plates that emphasise high‑quality ingredients.
